Printing House Square

23.1.2018

With housing stock at record lows around Ireland and the knock on effect of increased prices, newly built student accommodation is going some way to alleviating the pressure on housing supplies.

Trinity College Dublin is currently engaged in one such development in their city centre campus. Scheduled for completion in Autumn of 2019, Printing House Square will comprise 249 student beds on a 21,100sqm site with bike spaces, a health centre, disability services, a sports centre and three retail units. TCD approached us to design a 60 metre long hoarding that would publicise the development while under construction over the next eighteen months. The building’s design, by internationally renowned architects McCulloughMullvin, provided the inspiration for our direction. Drawing upon shapes found in the building’s unique, angular roof and repeat pattern in it’s brickwork, we created a striking backdrop for CGI renders, images of student life and information on the development. The hoarding provides a taste of the drama and energy the building will soon add to Trinity College Dublin’s historical campus.
